Cristina, the disaster...

Hi everyone!!!
How are you today? I had a crazy couple of days, and the reason is because I am officially a disaster, ha ha. I lost the internet connection and I went crazy trying to fix it. When I gave up and called the telephone company to get it fixed, I realized that I disconnected one of the cables that was under the desk with my foot. So embarrassing. So now it is fixed and it will be the first thing I check if it happens again.

First of all I have to say, thank you for all the nice comments I got on my card for Joy's challenge. You really made my day!

And now, here is another card I made last week. More purple, as you can see.

For this card I sketched the daffodils die cut from HA and coloured it with watercolor pencils. A bit of distressing with Dusty Concord ink on the edges and it was done. Very simple card!
So, thank you for stopping by and hopefully I'll share something else tomorrow...

Less is more Challenge

Today I'm sharing with you a card I made for Joy's challenge. I have been following her blog for ages, just wowing at every card she makes. She is an amazingly talented crafter and she decided to do a challenge where we have to honour someone on this crazy crafting world. I decided to use as an inspiration this project by Jennifer McGuire. Jennifer is amazing and her videos had taught me most of the stuff I know about card making. So here is the card I made.

For this card I used the Friendship digi stamp by Hero Arts. For the little hearts I just put lots of distress inks (broken china, dusty concord and pumice stone) in my craft sheet, sprayed them with pearlised water and added more pearl perfect pearls on top. Then I placed a piece of white cardstock on top and I repeated that until I was happy with the colour and the shine.
I, then cut the hearts in 3 different sizes using my silhouette.

For the red hearts I just used Fired Brick distress ink and then added some red glitter. I covered them with Glossy Accents to make them smooth.
I created the sentiment in Photoshop and distress the card and sentiment with pumice stone ink. Rounded a couple of corners and finished!

Hope you liked the card, and if you want, you still have a couple of days to play along in the challenge.

Now, I have something to share with you.
There’s a new challenge blog in town with articles, swaps, interviews, videos, challenges, great prizes and MORE! Check out Lily Pad Cards!
They are having a hop each day this week and they are great, so what are you waiting for?!

See you tomorrow!!

Quick post today

Hi everyone!!!
Today I have to be quick, cause I have tons of things to do. So I made another birthday card for the Hero arts challenge with a spare sketch I made the other day. Here it is:

As you can see, more purple. OK, now I have to go, so hope you liked it!!

Finally friday!!!

Hi everyone!
The weekend is here!!! But before that, I am sharing one of my purple cards, he he.

For this card, I sketched one of the designs from HA for the Silhouette. Then I die cut them and colour them using Tattered Rose and Dusty Concord Distress inks. I dry embossed the sentiment with my Cuttlebug and distressed it with Dusty Concord.

To add shine to the card, I put some Diamond Stickles on the flowers.
Very easy card and I hope you liked it.
Have a great weekend!!!!

Not what I had in mind

Hi everyone!
What the title of this post means, is that lately I have been doing a lot of pink and purple cards, and because of it I have 3 cards waiting to be shared in those colors. And that was going to be my post for today, but I got into my craft room today with an idea in my head, and started playing around. What came out of it, wasn't what I had in mind, but I loved it. So I decided to post this card today, and leave the other 3 for another day.

Lots of Hero Arts goodies on this one. The stamp I used for the background(?) is the Heart Flourish, that I stamped with Pumice Stone and Black Soot distress inks. The butterflies and the "Birthday" are HA designs for the silhouette that I inked the same way as the background. Then I stamped Old Writing (from HA too) over them with Black Soot ink.

I used chipboard letters for the "HAPPY" that I embossed with black embossing powder.
I wanted the butterflies to have dimension, so I put glue just on the body and raised the wings with a bit of dimensional tape. Love the effect.
Hope you liked it and I will be back tomorrow with a purple card, ha ha.
Thanks for stopping by!!

First digital

I have a cork board in my craft room where I keep some of the cards I received and the cards I make for my hubby. The thing is that I was looking at it today, and I realised I hadn't shared here my first attempt at a digital card. So here it is:

I saw this card in Lucy's blog ages ago, I loved the design and decided to give it ago. After watching like a hundred tutorials over the internet about working with digital stamps and kits, I bought the Kit from Hero Arts called "A sweet birthday".
The sentiment I used in this card was from the same kit, I just made a couple of changes. It was really fun to do this card and I guess the reason for me not doing a lot of digital is because I hate cutting with my scissors and I have a silhouette!!
Here is a close up of the glittery cherry and in this pic you can see that the ice cream "glass"(?) is raised with pop dots. Very cute!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked it!

Monday, monday...

How is everyone today? I have to say that for me it was very good (taking into account that it is Monday, he he).
Today I tried sketching again with the silhouette. I chose another Hero Arts design and colored it with pencils. As the silhouette pens are not "waterproof", I couldn't blend the colours properly, but I think it turned out OK. Wouldn't it be great if they would take out sketch pens that you can use with water?Or is it just me?
Anyway, here is the card.

It was the first time I tried stamping on vellum (can you believe it?), and I liked it...
OK, I guess that is everything for today, thanks for stopping by.

More Hero Arts

Hi everyone!
How is your weekend going? I have another card to share today. I made it the other day for the Hero Arts Challenge for March.
I used another Hero Arts die cut for the Silhouette. Love them! The ribbon was white and I decided to give it a bit of colour with distress inks and water. I liked the distressed look it had at the end.
The background was done with the same distress inks, perfect pearls and water that I applied with an acrylic block. Then I embossed the Old Writing stamp with pearl white powder on top of it.

Hope you liked it and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hero Arts Challenge

Finally the weekend! And with nice weather! But before that, I will share with you a card I made today for the Hero Arts Challenge for March. The theme for this month are birthdays, and I decided to use one of the digital cuts for the silhouette made by Hero Arts.
I love this shape!!! I think it looks really great on a card and I have to say that I love how this card turn out. I raised the cut out with pop dots, and coloured under it with distress inks.

Now I just have to submit it and see what happens.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good weekend!

Some stamping...

Hi everyone!
The card I'm posting today doesn't really convince me. I think I went a bit too heavy on the Vintage photo, but it is done, so  there is not much I can do to fix it.

The stamps are all hero arts, and the sentiments is another of the print and cuts I made with the silhouette. The cupcakes took me a couple of tries, cause I wasn't happy with the colour. I finished doing them in white and adding some pearl perfect pearls for shine, but you cant really see it in the pics.
I used some red glitter on the cherries, that I covered with glossy accents.
Hope you liked it!

Sketched background

Hi everyone,
Today I have 2 cards to share with you.
I decided to try the sketch pen for the silhouette to make a damask background for my cards. As I did an entire A4 sheet, I had enough to make 2 cards, and there is still some left.

The sentiments I used are the "print and cut" I made last week. I used the purple sketch pen to do the background. Then clear embossed the dots and distress the edges with dusty concord distress ink.
Hope you liked them and thanks for stopping by...

Print and cut

Hi everyone,
I decided to experiment a little bit with my silhouette making my own print and cuts. I don't have a lot of sentiment stamps, mainly cause I need them in Spanish, so I decided to make some. I have to say that I had a lot of fun playing around.
For this card, I tried an idea I saw in one of the blogs I read (sorry, don't remember which one). For the flower I used 2 muffin cases. I cut them to make the petals, then I embossed some dots with clear embossing powder. The label is the print and cut I was talking about and I cut the leafs with the silhouette. Very simple, but I got to try a lot of things.
Now I thought I could share some pictures from me and my friends in Carnival. Here is one of me and my husband, can you guess what we dressed up as?

We went as Moe and the Crazy Cat Lady from the Simpsons. And here are some from my friends.

As you can see, we did put a little bit of work in the fancy dresses, he he.
OK, hope you had a good weekend!

Some old cards

Hi everyone,
Today I decided to share with you some of my first cards I made a couple of years ago, when I started with this crazy hobby.
Sorry for the pics, cause they are not the best... The first card is one I made for my husband right after our honeymoon.
The next card was for my father in law's birthday. He is a bit adicted to golf, so...

And the last card is another baby card with the same design as the other day, but this time done with paper instead of felt.

Thanks for stopping by...

Soooo busy lately...

Hi everyone!
I'm SO excited I have my first followers! Thank you SO much for showing interest in what I do, it makes me SO happy. Anyway, I am very busy lately, and not able to craft as much as I would like. The other day, I needed a birthday card for a little girl, and I didn't have anything suitable already made, and no time for making one. So I decided to make this b-day card, and keep it for those occasions.
Not one of my favourite cards, but it will do for those birthdays I wont be expecting. I'm not very happy with the snail, the colours didn't convince me, but I really didn't know how to colour him. If you have any suggestions I would love to know.
Thanks for stopping by...

Still ill...

Hi everyone,
As the title says, I'm still ill, so not feeling like crafting, but hopefully tomorrow, my inspiration will come back, ha ha.
I decided to share a card I made a long time ago, but gave away last week, cause a friend had a niece, and it was the perfect occasion.
Very simple card, but it is a design I used a lot for baby cards, cause I think it is veeeery cute.
Thank you for stopping by...

First mobile

How is your weekend going? In Spain we are celebrating Carnival this week, so fancy dresses for everyone...I guess I will share some pics in a couple of days. But today I have another picture to share. For Keanie's birthday, I made my first mobile.
It was a little bit time consuming, but the result was sooo good. I think I will be making a couple more of this.
I cut the butterflies with my silhouette in white cardstock and vellum. Then I coloured some of them with distress inks to coordinate with the bedroom. I embossed the magical background stamp in some of them to give them some texture.

Hope you liked it and enjoy the rest of the weekend!

What a week!

Hi everyone!
How was your week? Here a bit crazy. I had a lot of things to do, and blogging was one of them, but I started the week with a very bad cold that delayed everything.
So here we are, friday already, unbelievable!
Anyway, today I have something a bit different to share with you. Last week was Keanie's birthday. She is the cutest 5 years old I have ever met, seriously. SO adorable! So we celebrated it this weekend with her parents, and although she was ill ( I think she gave me her cold...), we had lots of fun.
I made this for her, I just couldn't resist it.
I have been thinking about this idea for a long time, but I never had the excuse to do it. It was very time consuming, as it turned out to be quite big, but it was worth it.
I cut each piece of cake in yellow cardstock. Then I clear embossed the "magical background" stamp from hero arts on the edge of each piece. Distressed all the pieces with Vintage photo distress ink and glue them together.
I cut the lids (or icing) in white cardstock that I sprayed with perfect pearl water to give it shine (it is impossible to see on the pic, sorry).
Then I fill each box with sweets, put the lids on, and tie the cake together with yellow ribbon.

Then I placed the scalloped circle on top of the cake and adhered it with 2 glue dots, so it would be easy to remove and get to the sweets.
I have to say that she loved it, and what do you think?
Have a good weekend!!
